Fiber hemp; the crop of the future
GreenInclusive is committed to more sustainability, carbon storage and new revenue models in and for the agricultural sector. The increasing demand for more natural raw materials, including fiber hemp, can be easily integrated into the agricultural sector. It has a positive impact on the environment and is very suitable for use as a rotational crop. In addition, it has many other advantages:
- The plant grows quickly >> 100 days growing season
- Vital soil >> deep-rooted crop
- No extra water, fertilizer and chemical pesticides needed
Fiber hemp is still an unknown and relatively new crop for many farmers. However, fiber hemp has many advantages. Fiber hemp grows quickly, is good for the soil, has a high yield per hectare, with a relatively low input of water, food and labour. The crop can be harvested early, which prevents structural damage. It also has a positive impact on the environment.
Fixed yield per hectare
GreenInclusive offers multi-year cultivation contracts in which a fixed price is agreed per tonne. Compared to other crops, there are few additional costs; no fertilizer, no chemical pesticides and preparing the land for sowing is easier.
Little labor
Fiber hemp is sown in April. The fiber hemp is ready to be mowed after 100 days. It then remains on the land for a few weeks to rot. The fiber can then separate from the wood when it is slightly wet. Then when it dries again, it can be properly disassembled at the factory.
Growing fiber hemp is simple for the farmer. GreenInclusive comes to sow, mow and press the fiber hemp. The farmer only needs to prepare the soil for sowing with the correct fertilizer and shake the crop twice after mowing and wind once before the fiber hemp can be baled. The cultivation of fiber hemp therefore only requires approximately 4 hours of labor per hectare per year.
Growing locations 2022
In 2022 we will grow more than 200 hectares in Fryslân. Farmers in Drachtstercompagnie and Ureterp participate and we also grow the crop in Nieuwehorne, at our own production location. In 2023 we will continue to grow and grow more fiber hemp. We would like to organize this in collaboration with the agricultural sector in Fryslân. As a result, farmers can generate a more diverse income and we offer long-term security by making sustainable agreements.

Future-proof agricultural sector
With GreenInclusive we are committed to the transition to a sustainable economy. We do this, among other things, by producing natural raw materials and developing products that store carbon for a long time, such as insulation material made of fiber hemp. By taking care of carbon reducing activities on Dutch territory and at the same time stimulating the market for natural products, we ensure a reinforcement of the effects. An increase in the proportion of natural products leads to an increase in the carbon reducing effects.
- Positive environmental impact
- Good for biodiversity
